VACT is excited to announce auditions for its winter play:
Suite Surrender
It's 1942 and two of Hollywood's biggest divas have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel -- assistants, luggage, and legendary feud with one another in tow. Everything seems to be in order for their wartime performance . . . that is until they are somehow assigned to the same suite. Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this hilarious riot of a love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.
This show will be performed in the VACT Theater at 103 Lincoln Street, February 13-22, 2025. The full performance schedule can be found HERE.
Suite Surrender features a cast of nine adults and runs approximately 90 minutes, plus an intermission. See character descriptions HERE.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Auditions will be held December 9th and 10th at the VACT building, 103 Lincoln Street, Verona WI, beginning at 6:30 PM
If necessary, callbacks will be held on December 10th at the VACT building beginning at 8:30 PM
Actors must be available in person for both auditions and callbacks. No video auditions will be accepted for this production.
We will not accept any day of, walk up, or late registrations. All registrations must be completed by 10:00 pm on Friday, December 6th.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Auditioners should bring a recent photo, no larger than 4 x 6, to the auditions.
Actors interested in auditioning for the roles of Claudia McFadden, Athena Sinclair, and/or Mrs. Osgood should be prepared to sing a short excerpt from Irving Berlin’s “Always.” Music and Accompaniment can be found in two keys in THIS FOLDER. You only need to prepare the song in one key.
CAST LIST AND REHEARSAL INFORMATION:
Cast List will be posted on WWW.VACT.ORG by Thursday, December 12th.
Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 16th and will generally be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 6:30 PM.
During the registration process you will be asked to list all rehearsal conflicts.
DRESS REHEARSALS/PERFORMANCE DATES:
Dress rehearsals will be held February 10th and 12th.
Performances will be held in the VACT Theater at 103 Lincoln Street, Verona on February 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st and 22nd at 7:30 PM, and February 15th and 22nd at 2:00 PM.
