VACT Summer Camps 2024

REGISTRATION FOR ALL CAMPS NOW OPEN

Camp Registration Policies

  • Campers MUST register for the camp that aligns with the grade they WILL COMPLETE in the 2023-24 school year, regardless of the camper’s experience, interest, age, or scheduling considerations.

  • VACT WILL NOT allow campers to attend camp for a grade higher than the grade the camper will complete in the 2023-24 school year.

  • Please contact Summer Camp Director Emma Vogel at education@vact.org if a camper wishes to attend camp for a grade lower than the grade they will complete this school year, but there are no exceptions for attending a camp for a higher grade.

Grades K-2

Stone Soup

Half Day Camp
Mon. June 24th - Fri. June 28th
9:00-12:00pm
Tuition: $150

For students who will complete grades K-2 in the 2023-24 school year, this one-week, half day morning camp will include instruction in acting, dance, and music, as well as some fun crafts, with time spent preparing a play for performance. The camp will conclude with an informal performance of the short musical "Stone Soup" on Friday, June 28th.

Students should register for the camp that corresponds with the grade they will COMPLETE in the 2023-24 school year.

Grades 3-5 Play Camp - Tales with a Twist!

Two Week Play Camp / Half Days
Mon. July 8th - Fri. July 19th
Weekdays: 9:00-11:30am
Tuition: $300

For students who will complete grades 3-5 in the 2023-24 school year, this two-week, half-day morning play camp will focus on tales with a twist and will include instruction in drama, dance, and design, with time spent preparing the one act play “The Thirty-Three Little Pigs” for performance. The camp will conclude with an informal performance of a play on Friday, July 19th. Please note that this camp focuses on a play, not a musical.

Students should register for the camp that corresponds with the grade they will COMPLETE in the 2023-24 school year.

Grades 3-5
The Jungle Book KIDS!

Two Week Musical Camp / Full Days
Mon. July 29th - Fri. Aug. 9th
Weekdays: 9:00-3:00pm
Tuition: $525

For students who will complete grades 3-5 in the 2023-24 school year, this two-week, full day camp will include instruction in drama, music, dance, and design, with time spent preparing a musical for performance. The camp will conclude with an informal performance of the musical "The Jungle Books Kids” on Friday, August 9th.

Students should register for the camp that corresponds with the grade they will COMPLETE in the 2023-24 school year.

Grades 6-8
High School Musical Jr.

Two Week Musical Camp / Full Days
Mon. July 29th - Fri. Aug. 9th
Weekdays: 9:00-3:00pm
Tuition: $525


For students who will complete grades 6-8 in the 2023-24 school year, this two-week, full day camp will include instruction in drama, music, dance, and design, with time spent preparing a musical for performance. The camp will conclude with an informal performance of the musical "High School Musical Jr." on Friday, August 9th.

Students should register for the camp that corresponds with the grade they will COMPLETE in the 2023-24 school year.

Grades 6-8 Play Camp - Tales with a Twist!

Please note that this camp focuses on a play, not a musical.

Meet Our Summer Camp Staff!

Emma Vogel

Emma is one of the Education Directors at VACT and so excited to be teaching at and directing these exciting summer camps! She has a degree in Secondary Education with concentrations in both English and Communications from Grove City College, and has been a middle school English teacher and high school theater director and worked with students of all ages. She got involved at VACT during the summer of 2019 and has since been a part of three productions, directed five youth shows and co-leads the Education Program for dance, drama and music classes. She can't wait to get to know each and every kid at camp and have an awesome theater filled summer!

Heather Felker

Heather is excited to be involved in VACT’s Summer Camps again this year! She has her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, and has spent the last fifteen years either teaching music at local elementary schools, giving private music lessons, singing in the UW Choral Union, volunteering & directing various youth shows for VACT, and performing on stage for VACT! She has two kids that have been in many VACT youth productions for the last eight years. Singing and hanging out with kids are two of Heather’s favorite activities, so she is looking forward to a fun summer at VACT!

Daniel Christian

Daniel has been involved at VACT in productions since he was in grade school! He has worked the past two years at the VACT summer camps and loves helping kids find their voice and learn to sing confidently. He is currently a freshman at UW Madison, studying elementary education, and can’t wait to sing with you!

Sarah Strube

Sarah is very excited to be working at VACT again this summer! She's been dancing since she could walk, and has been involved with VACT for over a decade. Sarah is currently a student at UW Stevens Point where she is studying elementary education. While she's at school she's still immersed in theater by taking dance classes whenever she can and performing and choreographing for local theater groups in the Stevens Point area. Sarah cannot wait to work with the performers in Verona, and hopes to create tons of memories this summer with you!

Alexa Schaefer

Alexa has been involved with VACT on stage and off since she was 5-years-old. Most recently she served as the Dance Captain for The Wedding Singer Musical and Disaster! the Musical, and is currently directing and choreographing Matilda Jr. and is choreographing The Wizard of Oz at Monona Grove High School. Alexa has also choreographed other productions, such as Rock of Ages MSE and Footloose Youth Edition at VACT, and Beauty and the Beast at Monona Grove High School. She is currently a student at UW Madison majoring in dance. Alexa has years of dance training in various styles such as Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Ballet, and Contemporary.


Annika Hauser

Annika is in her third year at UW-Milwaukee studying theatre, music, and film. She has been dancing since she was three years old and doing musical theatre since she was eight. She is passionate about how uplifting music, theatre, and dance can be and takes any opportunity she can to help spread the joy that it creates. She comes from a heavily arts-involved family that have taught her about directing, acting, and teaching and is always looking for ways to implement more of the arts in the greater Madison and Milwaukee community. She recently got to since in the Wisconsin Choral Director's Association's Collegiate Honors Choir and helped direct a scene in McFarland's production of Almost Maine. She can't wait to spend this summer assisting with choreography and all the stories we'll tell!

Maddi Moll

Maddi has been involved with VACT since she was 5 years old, participating in shows up to and including this year, and was introduced to the staff this past fall as a substitute teacher for classes. She loves to dance and be involved in all aspects of VACT productions, and is super excited to be able to work with the summer camps this year!

Aria Johnson

Aria is ecstatic to teach this year at VACT! She is a sophomore at Verona Area High School and has been with VACT for over a decade, having appeared onstage in more than 25 productions, as well as working as staff on multiple youth productions and backstage as an assistant stage manager. She most recently appeared in a lead role in the VACT production that was selected to be performed at the American Association for Community Theater national conference. Aria cannot wait to teach students all the amazing skills she has learned in her time at VACT.

Sydney Weiss

Sydney has been involved in VACT productions since second grade. Some recent shows she has been in was SpongeBob, Matilda, and High School Musical 2 Jr. She loves all areas of theater and she is so excited to work with all of you!


Mira Roffers

Mira had a great time being involved in several VACT productions and camps over the past several years- starting with Footloose Jr. in 2020! Mira has also been involved in her high school musicals at West High School where she is currently a sophomore, and worked as a teaching intern for Children’s Theater of Madison. Mira loves, acting, singing, dancing, playing the piano AND working with kids, so she is super excited to be a part of the VACT team this summer!
