Verona Area Community Theater, Inc. offers the Verona, Wisconsin area community opportunities to participate in and enjoy all facets of community theater.  The mission for VACT, Inc. is to support productions and projects that augment and enhance the artistic experience for all who participate whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience.  These productions are understood to be occasions to refine skills, learn new ones, and have fun.  It is an organization goal to offer affordable access to theater to the wider community and to provide educational activities for Verona area residents in all aspects of staging theatrical productions.

Teen Theater The Drowsy Chaperone Cast List
December 17, 2014-- Congratulations and welcome to the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone - we are very excited to get the show started.  All the named parts except Trix the Aviatrix and The Superintendant are called for blocking on Sunday December 21st at 5:30. All other cast member are invited to come to pick up their materials this Sunday starting at 6pm.  Please plan to bring your parent with you for signing the cast contract.  We will also be collecting the fees at this time.  They are as follows:
  • $10 admin fee is to help cover our costs of the building use.
  • $10 - optional show T-shirt.
  • $25/$10 The scripts cost $25 each and the music copies are $10.  You pay only one of these depending on your part and the script that you are issued.  This is a deposit and will be returned to you when you return the materials at the end of the show.
  • Production staff gift - Optional - most of the production staff are volunteers and we like to give gifts for their services at the last show.  Most contribute $2-$10.
We need to know how many people will be available for rehearsal on Sunday December 28th.  Please email me with your availability and we will send an email announcing the schedule.  The first full rehearsal will be on Sunday January 4th at 5:30.

Childrenís Theater Cast List
December 15, 2014-- Thank you to everyone that auditioned for Aladdin Kids! We are so sorry that we cannot cast everyone but it is just not possible to work with this age group and so many children in our rehearsal space. Please encourage your child to try again. We are continually working on ways to include more children. If you do not plan on accepting your part, please contact our Director ASAP at katiemonk@me.com Please remember to watch for a cast email. If you do not receive an email by Friday 12/19, please send the Director an email.

IMPORTANT: Please read carefully

Material pick up will take place at the VACT Building from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm on Monday, December 15 (TONIGHT) (Please be prepared to pay $30.00 per child which includes administration fees as well as script, CD and show t-shirt costs.) If this is a hardship for anyone, please let us know and we will work something out.

Remember!!!! - Please print off the Cast Agreement Form below and bring it filled out to material pickup.

Aladdin Rehearsal Information

The first three rehearsals are below. A call schedule will be emailed at the beginning of each rehearsal week indicating which actors with lines will need to come early, to the 12:00 noon to 12:30pm rehearsals. Everyone is called as follows:

    Saturday, December 20 12:30 - 1:15pm
    Sunday, December 21 12:30 - 1:15pm
    Saturday, January 3 12:30-1:15pm
    The remaining rehearsals will be on Sundays.
    Dress rehearsals will be March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Performances are March 5th and 6th at 7pm and March 7th at 1pm and 4pm
**Please do not park in the stalls to the right of the building by the music room entrance** These spots are reserved for staff as often we have many heavy items to carry back and forth to rehearsal.

If you do not plan on accepting your part, please contact me ASAP at Terry@thedvoraks.com.  Please remember to watch for a cast email.  We will ask you to respond so that we know we have the right address.

Fall Project Applications
December 9, 2014-- Verona Area Community Theater is accepting proposals for the 2015 "Fall Project" show.  Any VACT member may submit a project proposal, which should include confirmed production staff and whether the production is pre-cast or will be cast by auditions.  Proposals can be submitted to the VACT Board, in care of the VACT President, Dale Nickels.  The deadline for application is February 1, (this is one month later than previous years), and the VACT Board will select a director at its February meeting.  For more information on Fall Project Selection, please see the VACT Policies page.
Singin' In The Rain Cast List
November 8, 2014-- Verona Area Community Theater is pleased to announce the cast list for Singin' in the Rain. Thank you to all who auditioned.

Performances will be January, 16, 17, 18 (Matinee), 22, 23 & 24, 2015.

VACT Board
The VACT Board of Directors meets monthly.  Members are always welcome to attend.  The next meeting is Monday, January 19, at 7:00 PM at the VACT Building, 405 Bruce Street.
MEMBERSHIP
Become a member of VACT! Membership entitles you to vote at the annual meeting for the new Board of Directors and for the Winter and Summer productions (see article elsewhere).  There are only two requirements for membership.  First you have to have been involved, in some way, in a VACT production in the previous year and, second, you have to be 17 or older.  Students 16 years and younger can be "apprentice members" and attend meetings and serve on committees, but are not entitled to vote.  Membership dues are $5 for an individual and $10 for a family. Family membership entitles all qualified members (17 and older and in a previous year production) to vote.  If you are not able to come to the annual meeting, but would like to be a member, you can download the handy membership form.
